If you do that, I can help you suggest the way to drape your saree according to your body structure, because saree is the quintessential Indian traditional wear, which every women can carry off with great panache. So, here are some tips that will help you to zero in on a saree, complementing your body type.

  1. Pear-shaped Body
You will be having a pear-shaped body if you are having a heavier bottom compared to your upper body. While choosing your saree, go for materials like cotton or georgette, as those will help you to balance between your upper and lower part of the body. Opt for Seedha pallu style of draping. While choosing your saree go for beautiful borders, small prints and embroidery work in bold and bright colors.

You will be having an apple-shaped body if you are heavy around your bust and stomach. Choose a lengthy blouse, since that will help you cover your waist, or try draping your saree a little higher than normal. Opting for silk sarees can bring out the beauty in you. The ulta-pallu kind of draping style will suit you more.
  3. Overweight women
Always opt for silk or chiffon  or handloom sarees in dark colors to give your body a balanced shape. Go for full sleeves and long blouses, as they would allow you to hide your flab.
